During his service in the Manti Temple, Apostle A. H. Lund personally witnessed and documented numerous miraculous healings that occurred within the sacred walls of the temple. These events, which he frequently recounted, served as profound testimonies of the Gospel's power to those who heard his reports. One notable instance occurred on September 22, 1891, when Brother Joseph V. Robison, a resident of Fillmore, Utah, came to the Manti Temple suffering from a severe and agonizing case of facial cancer. Lund, acting under the authority of his calling, ministered to Brother Robison; he sealed the anointing and specifically rebuked the cancer. Following this administration, Brother Robison was made whole. Beyond this specific healing, Lund bore record of many other striking instances during his tenure at the Manti Temple, including cases where those who were blind had their sight restored. These testimonies of physical healing were considered by Lund and his listeners as evidence of the Lord's continuing work and the divine approval of the temple ordinances.
In Their Own Words
“My labors of late have been in the Manti Temple, and there I have seen many cases of healing. The speaker related a number of instances of healing which had occurred under his own observation, during the period of his labors in the Manti Temple, which were striking testimonies of the truth of the Gospel. The sick had been made whole and the blind restored to sight. — Millennial Star 51:49”
