George Romney recounts that when his father and family arrived in Nauvoo nearly 43 years prior, his father was sick unto death. Through the blessings of the Almighty, he recovered and was able to work on the Nauvoo Temple.
Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):
Nearly 43 years had elapsed since my father and family landed at the old stone house at the north end of the city, which is still standing. He was then sick nigh unto death, but through the blessings of the Almighty, he lived many years, and was able to labor upon the Nauvoo Temple until its completion and dedication unto the God of Israel, and received his ‘washings and anointings within its sacred walls.

He was then sick nigh unto death, but through the blessings of the Almighty, he lived many years, and was able to labor upon the Nanvoo Temple until its completion and dedication unto the God of Israel, and received his ‘washings and anointings within its sacred walls. — Millennial Star 45:17”
