Following childbirth, Ellen Jackson became ill with a fever. Despite home remedies failing, Joseph Moss was called to anoint and lay hands on her. She felt immediate relief the moment he removed his hands.

Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):

I was called to visit a sister, Ellen Jackson, who had been delivered of a child, and was suffering under a severe fever. I found her in a very weak state, and her friends were much alarmed about her. I then anointed her, and laid hands upon her in the name of the Lord, and as soon as I took my hands off her head, she exclaimed, praise the Lord, I am eased; and she has continued ever since to be so. She is now able to attend to her domestic duties. I may also mention that sister Sarah Clegg, and sister Susan Jackson, were present at the time.

In Their Own Words

“I then anointed her, and laid hands upon her in the name of the Lord, and as soon as I took my hands off her head, she exclaimed, praise the Lord, I am eased; and she has continued ever since to be so. — Millennial Star 11:17”
