Elder S. A. Woomer reports that despite being in a land of darkness and facing bitter opposition, the Lord influenced men to provide for the missionaries' physical needs.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 16, No. 12, 25 March 1854, p. 188):

Elder S. A. Woomer writes from Agra, that he is in a land of darkness, and that he has to contend with bitter opposition, but that the Lord has influenced men to provide for their physical wants.

In Their Own Words

“We feel truly thankful to our heavenly Father, for the blessings whieh He has bestowed upon us, for although the people are so bitter against us, and will not hear our doctrine, yet He has influenced men to give us all things necessary to our wants. — Millennial Star 16:12”
