Lucy May Green recounts her migration from Wellingboro, Northamptonshire, to Utah, twenty years prior to her letter. She describes leaving her family for the gospel's sake, being blessed by the Lord with friends and marriage, and eventually seeing her family members follow her to Utah, illustrating the fulfillment of her faith through the Lord's intervention.
In Their Own Words
“Twenty years ago, by the time this reaches you, I left my home in Wellingboro, Northamptonshire, for Zion. I was in my early twenties. I left father and mother and all my loved ones for the gospel's sake, and came over to Zion. Truly the promises of the Lord were fulfilled, and I found friends, and in due time, after four happy years, I married, and later welcomed one after another of my folks to Utah, until all of them were here. Truly, the Lord has blessed me abundantly, and I am trying to do a little good in His Church and kingdom. — Millennial Star 79:19”
