Elder Thomas Judd's successful missionary meetings in Rushden

Elder Thomas Judd, with Elders Joseph Bull, sen., and Wm. Ashworth, obtained the Temperance Hall in Rushden for two meetings on December 16, 1877. The afternoon meeting was attended by 300-400 strangers, and the evening meeting by approximately 500, with the hall being crowded. The meetings were noted as a success due to the large, orderly audience and the active help of local Saints and Elder H. Hamp.

Elder Thomas Judd, with Elders Joseph Bull, sen., and Wm. Ashworth, obtained the Temperance Hall in Rushden for two meetings on December 16, 1877. The afternoon meeting was attended by 300-400 strangers, and the evening meeting by approximately 500, with the hall being crowded. “Elder H. Hamp and the Saints of Stanwick were indefatigable in their exertions to circulate the notice, and make the meetings what they were. The meetings were well attended, and turned out a success. The afternoon meeting was attended by some three or four hundred strangers, and in the evening the hall was crowded, all the room being taken up; about five hundred strangers were present. The audience were both respectable and orderly, and were addressed by Elders Joseph Bull, sen., Wm. Ashworth, and myself. — Millennial Star 40:2”
