Elder J. R. Smith's Witness of Martin Harris's Testimony

During a conference, Elder J. R. Smith testified of having met Martin Harris, one of the three witnesses to the Book of Mormon, who personally confirmed to him that he had seen the angel turn over the leaves of the golden plates.

“Elder J. R. Smith followed, bearing testimouy to the truth of what had been said at our meetings, He had seen Martin Harris, one of the witnesses to the divinity of the Book of Mormon, and had heard him say that he saw the angel turn over leaf by leaf of the plates from which the k of Mormon has been translated, and the speaker knew that the work he was en in was of and not of man. — Millennial Star 51:42”
