During his mission in Australia, Daniel Goulding and his companion frequently traveled 'without purse or scrip,' relying on the hospitality of strangers and divine intervention. On one specific journey through a desolate section of the Australian bush, the missionaries became lost and were suffering from extreme thirst and exhaustion. After kneeling in prayer to ask for deliverance, they received a distinct spiritual impression to travel in a direction that seemed contrary to their path. Following this guidance, they discovered a hidden spring and a nearby settler's home where they were provided with food and shelter, which they attributed to the direct intervention of the Holy Ghost.
