During a conference of a group referred to as Saints or Holy Rollers in Canandaigua, New York, Harrison Tuttle, who had suffered from acute rheumatism for years, underwent a healing ceremony involving the laying on of hands and anointing by Bishop Eastman. Following the ceremony, Tuttle declared himself cured and free from pain.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 63, No. 27 (4 July 1901), p. 429):

At Canandaigua, N. Y., a man named Harrison Tuttle, who had been a sufferer from acute rheumatism for years, was administered to by Bishop Eastman, and immediately declared himself cured and free from pain.

In Their Own Words

“The scene was repeated in the healing of Harrison Tuttle, who had suffered from acute rheumatism for years, and who, after the ceremony, declared that he was cured and free from pain. — Millennial Star 63:27”
