Elder Benjamin Layton bore his testimony during the Manchester conference, noting that his testimony had been strengthened while laboring in the conference. He expressed that he had been enabled to bear the trials that had crossed his path through the blessings he received in the mission field.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 74, No. 46 (November 14, 1912), p. 734):

Elder Benjamin Layton bore his testimony, and said his testimony had been strengthened while laboring in the conference. He had been enabled to bear the trials that had crossed his path through the blessings he had received in the mission field.

In Their Own Words

“Elder Benjamin Layton bore testimony to the truthfulness of the gospel of Christ. He had enjoyed his labors in the Manchester conference, and his testimony had been strengthened while laboring there. Expressed his appreciation of the many blessings he had received while there and how he had been enabled to bear the trials that had crossed his path. He left his blessing with the saints and friends. — Millennial Star 74:46”
