While traveling to America on the ship Yorkshire in March 1843, Thomas Bullock prophesied that the 'hull of this old vessel' would carry the passengers safely to New Orleans. During the voyage, the ship encountered a severe storm that snapped the masts, leaving only the hull, yet the vessel remained afloat and successfully completed the journey.
