During the spring of 1921, as part of their apostolic world tour, Hugh J. Cannon and David O. McKay visited the Holy Land. While on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, they engaged in private prayer and meditation. Cannon recorded a 'remarkable spiritual impression' and a sense of divine presence that confirmed the reality of the Savior's atonement and the future gathering of Israel. Cannon noted that this experience was one of the most sacred of their year-long journey, providing them with renewed spiritual strength for their travels.
