Reynolds Cahoon — Heavenly Manifestations at the Kirtland Temple

As a member of the Kirtland Temple Committee, Reynolds Cahoon was a primary witness to the spiritual outpourings during the temple's dedication and the subsequent 'Pentecostal' season in early 1836. Cahoon was present when the sound of a 'rushing mighty wind' filled the building and when many of the Saints spoke in tongues and saw visions. He specifically witnessed the appearance of angels resting upon the roof of the temple and heard heavenly singing, which he recorded as a confirmation of the divine acceptance of their labors in building the house of the Lord.
