Reynolds Cahoon — Miraculous Provision for Temple Construction

In 1833, Reynolds Cahoon, Hyrum Smith, and Jared Carter were appointed as the committee to oversee the construction of the Kirtland Temple. At the time, the Church and its members were in a state of extreme poverty, and there were no funds available for such a massive undertaking. Cahoon recorded that as they moved forward in faith, 'remarkable providences' occurred where money, labor, and materials were provided from unexpected sources at critical moments. This sustained support allowed the committee to complete the structure despite constant financial and physical threats from mobs.
