Margaret Robertson Jackson Buchanan — Vision of the Church Farmhouse

Before being called to the Cotton Mission in Southern Utah, Margaret Robertson Jackson Buchanan experienced a vivid dream or vision while living in Manti. In this vision, she saw a large, specific stone house that she was told would be her future home. In 1862, when she and her husband Archibald Buchanan arrived at the 'Church Farm' (a tithing farm located between Washington and St. George) to fulfill their mission call, Margaret immediately recognized the stone farmhouse. She reportedly turned to her husband and stated, 'Archibald, this is the house I saw in my dream.' This manifestation served as a divine confirmation that their move to the difficult environment of Utah's Dixie was divinely sanctioned.
