Mary Ann Adams — Restoration of Sight

Mary Ann Adams, a pioneer of the Iron County Mission, suffered from a severe and painful affliction of the eyes that eventually resulted in total blindness lasting for several weeks. During this period of disability, she sought a Priesthood blessing for healing. She was administered to by Apostle George A. Smith, who was then overseeing the settlement of Southern Utah. During the administration, Smith promised her that her sight would be restored. Following the blessing, her eyes were miraculously healed, and her vision returned to normal, an event she and her husband William Adams documented as a testimony of the power of the Priesthood in the 'Mother Town' of Parowan.
