Thomas Durham — Vision of the Missionaries

While living as a weaver in Tockholes, Lancashire, England, Thomas Durham was spiritually searching for the true gospel. According to his son's biographical sketch, Durham experienced a dream or vision in which he saw the specific men who would bring him the message of the restored gospel. When missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints eventually arrived at his home, he recognized them instantly from his vision. This divine manifestation led to the conversion of both Thomas and his wife, Mary Morton, and their subsequent decision to emigrate to Zion.
