William Lang — Providential Protection from Flash Flood

While traveling from Salt Lake City to St. George in late 1861 to fulfill his mission call, William Lang and his family were traveling through the rugged canyons of Southern Utah. Lang reported receiving a sudden, urgent impression to halt his team and move the wagons to higher ground, despite there being no immediate sign of danger. Shortly after complying with this internal warning, a massive flash flood swept through the canyon floor where they had been positioned moments before. Lang attributed the survival of his family and their meager supplies to a direct act of divine protection and the 'still small voice' of warning.
