William E. Berrett was a Latter-day Saint educator and author whose classic work The Restored Church introduced generations of Saints to the history and doctrines of the Restoration. For decades he labored in the Church Educational System, teaching the restoration of the priesthood, the organization of the Church, and the divine calling of the Prophet Joseph Smith. His writings helped ground the testimony of countless Latter-day Saints in the historical foundations of the Restoration. His life is a faith-promoting witness that the Lord raises up faithful teachers to set the story of the Restoration before each rising generation, and that a single consecrated textbook can strengthen the testimony of a whole generation of the Saints.
