The George Benson Family: A Faithful Pioneer Household of the Benson Line
Contributed by
LDS Witness Archive
The George Benson family was among the faithful Latter-day Saint households of the Benson line who helped settle and build up the communities of the mountain West. Like many pioneer families, they left behind the comforts and kin of their former homes to gather with the Saints, and there, in the valleys of Utah, they reared a household in the gospel and contributed to the establishing of Zion. Their family is a faith-promoting witness of the pioneer households—often unnamed in the histories—who, by the daily labor of parents and children, made the desert blossom as the rose and carried the covenant into the next generation.
