Archibald F. Bennett: A Father of Latter-day Saint Genealogy and Temple Work (1896–1965)

Archibald Fowler Bennett (1896–1965) was a faithful Latter-day Saint whose lifelong work with the Genealogical Society of Utah helped lay the foundation of the Church's family history and temple work in the twentieth century. He also wrote the poem set to music as the hymn 'Holy Temples on Mount Zion' for the 1948 hymnbook—a hymn of the sacred work of redeeming the dead. Brother Bennett's life is a faith-promoting witness of those whom the Lord raised up to turn the hearts of the children to their fathers, that the work of the temples might go forward for the dead who waited in silence.
