Henry Passmore Bawden: An English Convert Who Built Up Granger, Utah (1820–1891)

Henry Passmore Bawden (3 August 1820 – 20 June 1891), born in North Molton, Devon, England, was an English convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Baptized in 1867, he emigrated to Utah and married in 1868, and became a foundational figure in the Granger (West Valley) Utah community. The impact of his life on that community has been remembered among the Latter-day Saints of the Salt Lake Valley. Brother Bawden's life is a faith-promoting witness of the English converts who, in the later pioneer era, heard the gospel, gathered, and quietly built up the Latter-day Saint communities of the West.
