Contributed by
LDS Witness Archive
Marilyn Scholes Bateman is a faithful Latter-day Saint woman who, after her husband Merrill J. Bateman returned from his mission to Great Britain in the mid-1950s, became his lifelong companion in a life of Church service and academic leadership. Sister Bateman has served in a stake Young Women presidency and has supported her husband's service as a General Authority, as Presiding Bishop, and as president of Brigham Young University. Her life is a quiet, faith-promoting witness of the faithful women whose love and support sustain the Lord's servants and shape the rising generation of the Saints.
