Bishop Millen Atwood: A Faithful Pastor of the Salt Lake Thirteenth Ward

Bishop Millen Atwood was a Latter-day Saint pastor who served as bishop of the Salt Lake Thirteenth Ward and, earlier, as president of the Bradford Conference in the British Mission (1854). He was remembered by President Heber J. Grant, who as a young man heard him preach a sermon in the Thirteenth Ward and never forgot it. He labored faithfully among the Saints in England during the difficult early days of the mission there, and afterward among the Saints in the Salt Lake Valley. He is remembered among the rank-and-file pastors and pastorates of the early Utah Church—a quiet, steady witness of the restored gospel.
