William Watkins Paralyzed Leg Healed - Mother's Accident on Ocean Voyage Healed by Parley P. Pratt

William Lampard Watkins documented a remarkable miracle in his own life and that of his mother during the ocean voyage to America. Watkins recorded: 'At about two years of age I was paralyzed through the carelessness of a nurse, having been exposed too long in the fields on the wet grass. I lost the use of my right leg from the hip joint down.' Despite this affliction, Watkins was able to serve the Church. Additionally, during the voyage to America in 1842, his mother was injured. Watkins wrote: 'My mother met with an accident in her hurry to escape a storm, fell down the hatchway and fractured her thigh. She was attended to by Elder Pratt.
