An eighteen-year-old convert to Mormonism sought personal confirmation of the truth of the Gospel after hearing a missionary preach. She prayed on her knees and made a covenant with the Lord to receive a testimony in answer to her prayer, which she states she received in a way that left no room for doubt.

In Their Own Words

“Well, I thought if God is the same yesterday, to-day and forever, I will go to him on my knees and ask him if he has revealed himself from the heavens and sent forth messengers to gather his elect from the four quarters of the earth. I covenanted with the Lord. to be a faithfnl witness to this testimony, provided he gave it to me as [ had read of its being given on the day of Pentecost. I would bear testimony to all the world that I received it in answer to my prayer, leaving no room for doubt. — Millennial Star 35:15”
