Walter M. Douglas's wife had been reluctant to investigate the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until she had a dream revealing that she should attend meetings with her husband. After this, she became convinced of the truth of the Gospel.
In Their Own Words
“I had been a member of the Church for some time before my wife became interested in the Gospel. She had to acknowledge to herself, however, that there was something very attractive in their teachings, for I never missed a meeting. Prior to meeting the Saints I had not attended church often, for the doctrines of men had ceased to impress me. I was more than pleased one Sunday evening when my wife told me that she had decided to go with me to hear the Latter-day Saints. She told me also that she had read some of the books, and had compared them with the Scriptures and found that the doctrines contained in them were substantiated by the Word of God. Besides, she had had a dream, in which it was revealed to her to go with me. She was deeply impressed with the preaching of one of the Elders, who laid the truth before the people in a most clear and convincing manner. My wife was satisfied with what she heard, for she knew that it was the truth. She has since been baptized, and we are both rejoicing in the knowledge of the Gospel.”
