Walter J. Beatie was a faithful Latter-day Saint who, on 7 January 1872 in Salt Lake City, married a daughter of President Brigham Young and Clarissa Ross Chase, and together they had seven children. He is recorded in the journals of George Q. Cannon (1894) and in the biographical directory of the first fifty years of Relief Society. Brother Beatie's life is a faith-promoting witness of the faithful Saints of the late pioneer generation who, marrying into the first families of the Restoration, raised up children in the gospel and helped carry the work forward in the Utah settlements.
