An elder in the Birmingham conference was very ill and was miraculously healed. The attending doctor remarked on the sudden change, stating it was 'almost miraculous' and that he had never seen anyone recover so quickly.
In the fourth Conference Presidents' Convention held in Sheffield on February 22, 1912, Birmingham Conference President Albert T. Smith officially reported on the conditions of his branches, specifically noting the instances of sickness among the elders and the miraculous recovery that occurred. The account highlights that this healing was a result of the collective prayers offered by both the elders and the local saints.
In Their Own Words
“Some of the elders have been sick, but are now recovering. One of them has been very ill, and has been miraculously healed. The doctor who has been in attendance, on seeing the sudden change for the better, remarked, 'Something strange; almost miraculous. I never saw anyone get better so quickly.' It was a direct answer to the prayers of the elders and saints. — Albert T. Smith, in Minutes of the fourth Conference Presidents' Convention, Millennial Star 74:9 (February 29, 1912)”
