Sister Gregson was baptized in Preston in 1841. Now at 84 years of age, she remains faithful to the truth and shares reminiscences of the early days of Mormonism in Preston despite having lived in a location where the branch was discontinued decades prior and receiving only rare visits from missionaries.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 66, No. 7, 18 February 1904, p. 107):
Sister Gregson, of Barrow-in-Furness, was baptized in Preston in 1841. She is now eighty-four years of age, and is still faithful to the truth. She loves to talk about the early days of the Church in Preston, and although she has lived for many years in a place where there is no branch of the Church, and has seen but few Elders, she has never wavered in her testimony.
In Their Own Words
“The Elders have had the pleasure of meeting Sister Gregson who was baptized in Preston, in 1841. She is now eighty-four years of age. Although the Elders have not been able to visit her except at long intervals, she remains faithful to the truth, and gives many interesting reminiscences of the early days of Mormonism in Preston. — Millennial Star 66:7”
