During the London Conference, Sister Agnes Rose Lane, a convert from Brooklyn, U.S., bore a testimony in tones of 'startling power.' This event served as a remarkable object lesson alongside the testimony of Sister Inez Knight to demonstrate the unity and truth of the Gospel.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 62, No. 17, 26 April 1900, p. 266):
Sister Agnes Rose Lane, from Brooklyn, U.S., who is now laboring in the London conference, bore a testimony in tones of startling power, which, with the testimony of Sister Inez Knight, served as a remarkable object lesson of the unity and truth of the Gospel.
In Their Own Words
“The telling point of the services was in the evening when Sister Inez Knight, raised in Utah, gave her very emphatic testimony, and President Lyman by a happy inspiration called a visiting lady, Sister Agnes Rose Lane, from Brooklyn, U.S., who in tones of startling power bore her testimony to the Gospel, the contrast and yet the solemn unity of the speakers, the home raised and the convert, was that President Lyman was enabled to demonstrate by this remarkable object lesson the truth of that “form of sound words” which it was the intent of that Conference to impress upon mankind. — Millennial Star 62:17”
