During a long-prevailing drought one Sabbath afternoon, the minister of the West Parish offered a closing prayer asking for rain. Immediately after the service concluded, rain began to fall heavily, having not rained for many weeks.
In Their Own Words
“One Sabbath afternoon, the eloquent minister of the West Parish, in his closing prayer, referred to the long-prevailing drought and earnestly besought the Divine Giver of all good to vouchsafe some reasonable and much-wished-for rain. Immediately rain began to fall—the first for many weeks—and for a short time it fell like a shower bath. — Millennial Star 31:39”
