President Elmina S. Taylor testified that her body was miraculously strengthened in answer to prayer, enabling her to attend the General M.I.A. Conference and June conference and social events despite illness—events she otherwise could not have attended. The accounts attribute her recovery and physical strength to the faith and prayers of the Improvement girls.
In Their Own Words
“Mingling with the happy throng renewing fond old ties and forming sweet new ones, was our dearly loved President, Elmina S. Taylor, feeling remarkably well. It was due to the faith of the devoted Improvement girls that her health permitted her attendance at the many sessions of the conference, and also of this social function. The strength that she gained at that time and the vigor she now possesses, is a glorious testimony to the daughters of Zion of the efficacy of their prayers. — The Young Woman's Journal 12:7”
