Patriarch Jonathan C. Cutler felt prompted to attend a meeting after a voice commanded him to do so while he was praying. He obeyed and considered the experience a great blessing.
In Their Own Words
“Before rising from my bed this morning, when offering a prayer of thanksgiving to my Father in heaven in silence for His protection over me during the night, my mind was planning for this day’s work, when a voice said to me, Attend the gathering at 8:30 of the Mutual Improvement; go there fasting, with heart full of prayer, and you will receive a great blessing from this gathering. I obeyed the voice which spoke to me, and I am very grateful to be here in your presence this morning.”
— Jonathan C. Cutler, The Young Woman's Journal 27:10
