Nettie Alder, a young member of the Y. L. M. I. A., was visited by a personage who told her she must soon depart from this life. She kept this secret from her parents until a few hours before her passing, though she silently bid them farewell in the days leading up to her death on January 10, 1890.
Nettie Sarah Alder was born on October 15, 1870, to parents George A. Alder and Lydia Dunford.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Young Woman's Journal, vol. 1 no. 6 (March 1890), p. 236):
Nettie Alder, a young member of the Y. L. M. I. A., was visited by a personage who told her she must soon depart from this life. She kept this secret from her parents until a few hours before her passing, though she silently bid them farewell in the days leading up to her death on January 10, 1890.
In Their Own Words
“She seems to have received a warning that she could no longer remain with her friends. A personage appeared to her and told her that she must soon depart. To this divine call she quietly submitted, offering no resistance. Fearing to alarm and distress her parents, she did not inform them of this visitation until a few hours before she passed away. — The Young Woman's Journal 1:6”
