A child suffered from inflammation of the lungs and received no relief from medical aid. After Elder Nathan N. Knight laid hands on the child in the name of Jesus Christ, the child was instantly healed.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in Times and Seasons, Vol. 2, No. 20, 15 August 1841, page 512):

A child of brother Nathan N. Knight, in Batavia, Genesee county, N. Y. was taken with an inflammation of the lungs, and was given up by the physicians; but through the prayer of faith, and the laying on of hands, in the name of Jesus Christ, it was instantly healed.

In Their Own Words

“We had a child attacked with an inflammation of the lungs, for which we applied to medical aid but it got no relief; then we called upon Elder Knight and he laid hands on her in the name of Jesus Christ, and she was instantly healed and in a few days appeared as well as ever. — Times and Seasons 2:20”
