After losing four of her children to diphtheria and subsequently losing her baby to the same disease, Mary was consoled by a vision of her children coming forth from their graves. She felt an unearthly joy that she was to be reunited with them for all eternity.

In Their Own Words

“There is little more to be added, unless I should speak of a vision which was afterwards sent her, of the time when her children should come forth from their graves, and of the unearthly joy which swept her being with a bliss unknown to earth as she clasped them one and all to her breast, knowing they were to be near her and with her for all eternity. — The Young Woman's Journal 4:2”
