Seventy-four-year-old Mary Ann Round was bedridden with a severe illness that doctors declared terminal. After Elder Neil S. Forsyth visited and prayed for her, she experienced a sudden and miraculous recovery. Within a week, she was up and about, eventually being baptized on June 21, 1908, with her daughter and son-in-law.

In Their Own Words

“I am seventy-four years of age, and for a long time I have been a great sufferer. I have been under the doctor's care for years, and have spent all my means in trying to get relief, but I grew worse instead of better. I was finally told by the doctors that they could do no more for me, and that I would have to remain in bed the rest of my life. I was in this condition when the elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came to our home. The elder came up and talked with me. He asked me if I believed in prayer, and I told him that I did. He said that he would pray for me, which he did, and God must have answered his prayer, for the change that came over me was nothing short of a miracle. In a week I was up and about. In a short time I applied for baptism, and on the 21st day of June, 1908, I, with my daughter and son-in-law, were baptized for the remission of our sins. I could scarcely walk up and down stairs before, but since I have joined the true Church of Jesus Christ, which I know it to be, I can get about better than I have done for years, and I am seventy-four years of age.”
