During a district conference held at the Odd-Fellows' Hall in Swansea, the meetings were crowded and attendees experienced the influence of the Holy Ghost while hearing the gospel preached.
Fuller account of this event (as retold in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 30, No. 46 (14 November 1868), p. 733):
SWANSEA CONFERENCE. — A conference was held in the Odd-Fellows' Hall, Swansea, on Sunday, Oct. 25, 1868. Elders E. Morris, President of the Welsh Mission; J. S. Lewis, President of the Swansea Conference; N. Pratt, W. C. Thomas, L. W. Richards, and P. Sroyz, from the Valley, were present. The Hall was crowded during each meeting, and the best of order prevailed. Many strangers had the privilege of hearing the Gospel preached in the power of the Holy Ghost, which was bestowed most abundantly. The Saints felt refreshed and strengthened, and the Priesthood were united in their efforts to roll on the work of the Lord in this part of the vineyard.
In Their Own Words
