While suffering from health issues in 1891, L. John Nuttall visited the Manti Temple. He recorded that he felt impressed to be baptized for his health. He was baptized seven times by Brother John Bench, with Brother Simon T. Beck providing the blessing and others serving as witnesses.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in L. John Nuttall diary, 22 Sep., 1891):
went to the [Manti] Temple in the Temple vehicle. There were quite a number of baptisms for renewal of health and for the Dead. I met Prest A. H. Lund who received me very Kindly & had conversation with him. I felt much impressed to be baptized for my health and Bro Alstrom provided me suitable clothing so I was baptized 7 times by Bro John Bench. Bro Simon T. Beck was mouth in blessing me & Bros David F F uns [sic] & John Haber were witnesses.
