Junod was afflicted by distress and the mistreatment of his wife and sisters. He came to Elder Curtis E. Bolton in a state of excitement and tears. Bolton and another Elder laid hands on him, and Junod was restored to a calm, sane state, rejoicing much, until later events led his family to confine him in an asylum.
Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):
While I was over the matter, Junod came in rather excited, and complained of the treatment he underwent from his wife and two sisters, and burst into tears. After a little, the brother with me being an Elder, we laid hands on Junod, and I baptized him; he was sane, and rejoiced much, and when he left us he was and not even excited. I have since learned that his wife and sisters have had him put into an asylum, which is a common way here to get rid of those who are troublesome, or to get possession of their property.
In Their Own Words

After a little, the brother with me being an Elder, we laid hands on Junod, and I baptized him; he was sane, and rejoiced much, and when he left us he was and not even excited. — Millennial Star 14:20”
