While escaping from prison at Columbia, Missouri, Joseph Smith had to hide in a tree. Having little experience with exertion, he fainted from exhaustion and remained in a faint for nearly an hour. He called upon the Lord, was strengthened, and was able to climb down from the tree.
In Their Own Words
“Being so little used to exercise, I fainted through over exertion, and remained so faint for near an hour that I could not get down from the tree; but calling on the Lord, He strengthened me, and I came down from the tree. — Millennial Star 17:22”
