Healing of John Smith and Sister Wakefield on the ship American Congress

As the ship American Congress departed for New York, John Smith and Sister Wakefield were both very unwell. Smith had to be transported to the ship in a cab. The account reports that they recovered through the power of God and the faith of the Saints, describing their improvement while sailing.

You probably remember that several were very unwell when they came on board, among whom was brother John Smith, who was obliged to be conveyed in a cab, also sister Wakefield, whom, we are happy to say, have wonderfully improved. We have had a very pleasant time, and the Saints have felt well, and have been very attentive to their duties, and have manifested a spirit of union and love, which has been very pleasing to us.
