Following her return from New York and move to Salt Lake City, Susa Young Gates was again dangerously ill for two years, but she testifies that God healed her body, enabling her to continue her life as a Temple and genealogical worker.
Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):
My husband sold our little home in Provo and moved us to this city where I lay dangerously ill for two years more. But God, not man, cured and healed my body, and here am I on earth, a Temple and Genealogical worker, a mother of five living children, eight dear ones laid away, a grandmother and great-grandmother seventy-three years old, still busy and grateful to Him and to all my dear friends on the General Board of the Y. L. M. I. A.
