John L. Smith records that while he felt alone and lost after Elder Chislett was called to Utah, the words of a blessing given to him by Elder Franklin D. Richards regarding the guidance of the Spirit were fulfilled.

In Their Own Words

“When brother Chislett was called to go to the Valley, I felt alone, and almost lost, but brother Franklin told me in his blessing that I should have the Spirit of the Lord to direct me, and I have had it. Thus, the words of brother Franklin have been fulfilled; the words of the brethren in the Valley have been fulfilled, and the words of brother B to a great extent. — Millennial Star 18:35”
