During a tour through the northern portion of the Scotland Conference with Elder Grover, Elder James Sharp held meetings with the Saints and strangers. During these meetings, the Saints experienced manifestations of the Holy Spirit, which brought joy to the missionaries and the congregation.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 30, No. 47, 21 November 1868, p. 747):
Elder James Sharp writes from Dundee, Nov. 12, 1868:—'I have been traveling through the northern portion of the Scotland Conference with Elder Grover, holding meetings with the Saints and strangers. We have had some good meetings, and the Saints have enjoyed the manifestations of the Holy Spirit, which has been a source of great joy to us and them.'
In Their Own Words
“I have just returned from a tour through the northern portion of this Conference with brother Grover, who is here on a visit from the Glasgow Conference. We have had a time of rejoicing in visiting the Saints and holding meetings which were well attended by Saints and strangers, and it is to be hoped that good will result from our humble endeavors to teach the principles of life and salvation. Our hearts were made glad by the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in all our meetings.— Millennial Star 30:47”
