James Hardy's Healing of a Cataract through Administration

James Hardy, a missionary, developed a cataract in his eye while laboring in the London Conference. He visited the Eye Hospital in Moorfields on February 24th, 1882, where an operation was performed. Following the operation, he credits his recovery and clear vision to the prayers of the Saints and the power of the Priesthood, specifically noting the fulfillment of a promise made by President Albert Carrington during a conference on April 23rd.
In Their Own Words
“At the District Meeting held in London, Feb. 19th, you will remember I consulted you in relation to having a cataract removed from my eye. I went on Feb. 24th to the Eye Hospital, Moorfields, where the operation was performed that day. I was treated very kindly, and I am happy to say I can now see very well. The brethren visited me while in the Hospital, and I realized the prayers of the Saints and the power of the Priesthood in my behalf, thus also realizing your promise made to me at the Conference on the 23rd of April. I feel to thank my Heavenly Father for His kindness to me, and also the brethren for their faith and prayers. I am now able to resume my duties in the ministry, and I feel to rejoice in the work of the Lord.”
