Wilford Woodruff, in a toast at the July 24th anniversary celebration in Salt Lake Valley, described J. M. Bernhisel and J. H. Grant as noble defenders of the Constitution and the rights of the Saints. He expressed that if their enemies were to kill their bodies, like the two prophets in Jerusalem, they would supernaturally stand upon their feet to the consternation of their enemies.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 14, No. 41, 4 December 1852, page 655):
Dr. Bernhisel and J. H. Grant, who have been noble defenders of the Constitution and the rights of the Saints, were also toasted. If their enemies were to kill their bodies, like the two prophets in Jerusalem, they would supernaturally stand upon their feet to the consternation of their enemies.
In Their Own Words
“J. M. Bernhisel and J. H. Grant: Noble defenders of the Constitution, of their country, and the rights of the Bee-hive. Should their enemies kill their bodies, like the two Prophets in Jerusalem, they would stand upon their feet to the fear and consternation of their enemies.—By Wilford Woodruff. — Millennial Star 14:41”
