Isaac C. Haight — Healing of Eliza Ann Snyder Haight
Published August 31, 2026 at 12:15 AM
In 1847, while the Haight family was traveling across the plains toward the Salt Lake Valley, Isaac's wife, Eliza Ann, became dangerously ill. With the company far from medical assistance, Isaac exercised his faith and the authority of the priesthood to administer a blessing to her. According to family records, Eliza experienced a rapid and dramatic recovery that allowed her to continue the arduous journey. Isaac documented this as a clear instance of the power of the priesthood and divine mercy.
