While suffering from pneumonia in Liege, Belgium, Elder Henry Robert James told Elder Charles P. Beus that he was going to leave and specifically stated he would go away at half-past two, which occurred as he passed away at 2:33 a.m.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 63, No. 42 (17 October 1901), p. 666):
Elder Henry Robert James, of the Netherlands mission, died at Liege, Belgium, on the 14th inst., of pneumonia. He was a faithful missionary, and his death is a great loss to the mission. He told Elder Charles P. Beus, who was with him, that he was going to leave, and specifically stated he would go away at half-past two, which occurred as he passed away at 2:33 a.m.
In Their Own Words
“Wednesday evening he said to Elder Beus who was with him, who was, however, not sure whether he was in his right mind or not, ‘I am going to leave you.’ Brother Beus said, No, you are going to remain here.’ He repeated, I am going away. You are trying to keep me here, but I am going away at half-past two.“ About midnight he calmed down somewhat, and from then on until death occurred at 2:33 Thursday morning, October 10th, he gradually became quieter and weaker.— Millennial Star 63:42”
